910178 - UNDER FIRE: The 416th Bomb Group in World War II, 1943-1945 - DVD (15 minutes)

An Old Segundo Production

Introduces the story of the 416th Bomb Group (L) from activation and training in the United States to combat operations in the European Theater of Operations during World War II.  Based first at Wethersfield in Essex and later in France, the men of the 416th took the war to German-occupied Europe.  By March 1944, the Wethersfield days were centred on missions, with ground crews repairing, loading and servicing the A-20s day and night, and the air crews flying critical missions into occupied Europe.  Supported first by British families and later by French families in the villages and towns surrounding their bases, these young men of the 416th made a difference in the victory won in the skies over Europe.

 Run time approximately 15 minutes.
